Welcome to our new Bible teaching series on the Book of Colossians. In this introductory teaching, we explore the background of Colossians: who wrote the letter, the city of Colossae, and the purpose of the book. The letter opens by identifying the Apostle Paul as the writer, with Timothy mentioned alongside him, and it is addressed to the faithful believers in Colossae. Colossae was an ancient city in Phrygia, in Asia Minor—located in what is now modern-day Turkey. It was in the Lycus Valley, near Laodicea and Hierapolis. As we begin this journey, we will see one central truth throughout the book: Jesus Christ is supreme over all, and He is sufficient for our salvation and daily Christian life. 📖 Bible Reading: Colossians 1:1–8 ✝️ Topic: Introduction to Colossians 📌 In this teaching: • The writer of Colossians • The city of Colossae • The Colossian church • The purpose and central message of the letter Please like, share, and subscribe for more Bible teaching.
