🚨 Port St. Lucie & Palm Beach Flood | 15+ Inches, State of Emergency & Polls Moved Before Election

More than 15 inches of rain flooded Port St. Lucie, Palm Beach Gardens and Florida's Treasure Coast on Monday, November 2, 2026, stranding drivers across entire neighborhoods just hours before Election Day. Palm Beach Gardens said more than 15 inches fell in about 12 hours in parts of the city, Riviera Beach and The Acreage, beyond the area's 1-in-100-year rainfall. Port St. Lucie police received a large number of calls about vehicles stranded in floodwater, St. Lucie and Indian River counties declared local emergencies, and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Executive Order 26-227 declaring a state of emergency in Brevard, DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie counties. Martin and Okeechobee county schools closed Tuesday, Brightline suspended Orlando–West Palm Beach service, and polling places were moved in Indian River, Martin, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties.
