He started singing practice from the age of thirteen. Baul Shomrat Shah Abdul Karim was his teacher. Baul Kabir Shah has expertise in Bhatiali, Murshidi songs and the songs of Bicched Bhab. He is a blessing for Bangla folk music. His last performance took place in the Dhaka International FolkFest 2018. The euphony of Folk music from around the world comes back to its’ abode; to the land of Lalon, to the rivers of Bhatiali, to the sound of Bhawaiya. ‘Dhaka International FolkFest’ is a celebration of sheer musical brilliance where myriads of folk artistes from home and abroad perform on a single platform. From the very beginning, our journey has been bestowed with more than 500 artistes from 17 countries and made it the biggest folk music festival of Asia. বাউল কবির শাহ্ বাংলা লোকজ সংগীতের এক অনন্য নাম। তার গায়কী দিয়ে তিনি শ্রোতা, দর্শক সবাইকে মাতিয়ে রাখেন। ১৯৭৬ সালে জন্ম নেয়া এই গুণী শিল্পী তেরো বছর বয়স থেকে গানের চর্চা শুরু করেন। বাউল সম্রাট শাহ্ আব্দুল করিমের কাছে থেকে তার গানের হাতেখড়ি। বিচ্ছেদ ভাবের গান, ভাটিয়ালী, মুর্শীদি গানে পারদর্শী এই শিল্পী বাংলাদেশের গানের জগতে আশীর্বাদস্বরুপ। লোকসংগীত বাঙালি জাতির সংস্কৃতি আর ঐতিহ্যে হাজার বছর ধরে প্রবাহমান। সংগীতের এ ধারায় মিশে আছে জীবনের গভীর দর্শন, আধ্যাত্মিকতা, প্রেম আর মাটির ঘ্রাণ। লোকগানের সুর-সুধা বিশ্ব দরবারে ছড়িয়ে দেয়ার লক্ষ্যে সান ফাউন্ডেশনের উদ্যোগে ২০১৫ সাল থেকে আয়োজিত হয়ে আসছে এশিয়ার সবচেয়ে বড় লোকসংগীতের অনুষ্ঠান ‘ঢাকা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফোকফেস্ট’। আমাদের এই মঞ্চে এখন পর্যন্ত ১৭টি দেশের ৫০০ এরও বেশি শিল্পী জড়ো হয়েছেন তাদের সুরের মুর্ছনায় দর্শককে মুগ্ধ করতে। Find us on:   / dhakainternationalfolkfest     / dhaka.international.folkfest   https://www.dhakainternationalfolkfes...
