This was the hike I had been dreaming about for years. I planned it, postponed it, planned it again... and somehow, the timing never felt quite right. This time, I decided to stop waiting. I realized I would probably never feel completely ready, and the only way to find out if I could do it was to simply try. So I packed my backpack, loaded my tent into the car, and drove to Chamonix, France, where one of the world's most iconic long distance hiking trails begins. Over the following days, I hiked roughly 180 kilometers around the Mont Blanc massif, crossing France, Italy, and Switzerland. Every day brought new landscapes, endless mountain passes, charming alpine villages, crystal clear lakes, waterfalls, and views that honestly can't be captured by a camera. Most nights I slept in my tent beneath the mountains, waking up surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever experienced. One evening, however, I was caught in a powerful storm and found shelter for the night in a cozy mountain refuge, an experience I'll remember for a long time. The trail wasn't easy. A relentless heat wave made every climb more demanding than expected, but I was incredibly grateful that there were so many natural water sources along the route. Being able to refill my bottles regularly made a huge difference and kept me going through the hottest days. At one point I injured my knee, and for a while I questioned whether I should continue. But I had come too far to give up. I slowed my pace, listened to my body, and kept putting one foot in front of the other. Crossing the finish line, I knew one thing for certain... Every single step was worth it. The Tour du Mont Blanc challenged me physically and mentally, but it also reminded me why I love spending time in nature. It gave me unforgettable memories, breathtaking views, and a deep appreciation for what we're capable of when we simply decide to begin. And honestly... I'd do it all over again. I hope you enjoy coming along on this journey with me. If you've ever dreamed about hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc, let this be your sign. Don't spend years waiting for the perfect moment like I did.
