The Technics RS-AZ7 is a 3-head stereo cassette deck manufactured in Japan. Designed for playback and recording of Type I (Normal), Type II (Chrome) and Type IV (Metal) tapes, it incorporates Technics' proprietary Amorphous-Z playback head technology together with advanced automatic tape calibration and Class AA recording circuitry.

The RS-AZ7 features Technics' unique Amorphous-Z playback head utilizing magneto-resistive technology, a design intended to improve frequency response, channel separation, signal-to-noise ratio and playback accuracy compared with conventional playback heads.
