This Grasshopper tutorial will cover how to create groups of typical panels in your facade system based on rules. I will typically group by a set number of materials which were derived and simplified from a gradient input. So the more panel types I include, the smoother my gradient coloration will appear in the final product. This helps to balance out the level of customization required to achieve the design intent for your paneling system.
I use the Grasshopper plugin Lunchbox to write an Excel file after formatting my data for export. This workflow can be used as a dataset that is then linked into a Power BI dashboard for visualization! Let me know if you would like to see more workflows building out different dataset types in other architecture applications.
I also show how to use the Member Index Grasshopper Component to create these groups organized by dedicated branches. This keeps the data organized throughout the visual scripting graph.
