A solo piano arrangement of Kad ja pođoh na Bembašu, ideal for late beginner and early intermediate players. Sheet music available: https://peacehealthlovepiano.etsy.com... Arranged and performed by Felix Sun. Kad ja pođoh na Bembašu ("When I went to Bembaša") is a traditional Bosnian sevdalinka set in Sarajevo's historic Bentbaša riverside area. Its melody has a rich history, with a possible Sephardic connection, although its exact origins remain uncertain. One of my favorite versions of the song (by Himzo Polovina):    • Kad ja pođoh na Bembašu - Himzo Polovina   Lyrics: Kad ja pođoh na Bembašu, na Bembašu, na vodu Ja povedoh bijelo janje, bijelo janje sa sobom Sve djevojke Bembašanke na kapiji stajahu Samo moja mila draga na demirli pendžeru Samo moja mila draga na visoku pendžeru Ja joj rekoh dobro veče, dobro veče, djevojče Ona meni, doj' do veče doj' do veče, dilberče Ja ne pođoh istu veče već ja odoh sutradan Ali moja mila draga za drugog se udala English Translation: When I went to Bembaša, To Bembaša, to the water, I took a white lamb, A white lamb with me. All the girls of Bembaša Were standing at the gate, Only my dear beloved Was standing at the iron-barred window. Only my dear beloved Was standing at the high window. I said to her, “Good evening, Good evening, my girl.” She said to me, “Come this evening, Come this evening, my darling.” I did not go that same evening, But I went the next day. But my dear beloved Had married another.
