The Hank Wangford Band at the Cambridge Folk Festival 1982

The HW Band gave a full blooded performance at the Cambridge Folk Festival in 1982. As well as the outright tomfoolery the playing is superb with echoes of Commander Cody, Asleep At The Wheel and the Flying Burrito Brothers. The band are flying - backing Hank are Brad Breath (Andy Roberts) Manley Footwear (BJ Cole) pedal steel, Irma Cetas (Melanie Harrold) vocals, Amos Avaczyk-Daley (Gary Taylor) bass and Milton Keynes (Howard Tibble) drums. Irma Cetas' raw impassioned version of Love Has No Pride is unsurpassed even by Bonnie Raitt. Hank supplies some classic songs from the Wangford Hall of Pain and struggles with a monster cactus. The Cambridge Folk never asked them back since then.....
