It is believed that Lord Shiva's navel or middle part appeared here and for that reason this place was called Madhyamaheshwar. Madhyamaheshwar is not easily accessible by road. To reach Madmaheshwar first you have to reach Ukhimath. And from Ukhimath you have to go to Ransi. The trekking route begins from Ransi Village.
