What's it like to go grocery shopping in Israel? How much do frozen pizzas cost here? Do they even HAVE frozen pizzas in Israel? I know you were bursting forth with these questions and more (sarcasm). And so, tonight, I set out to find answers, documenting my weekly grocery shop in the Agron Street branch of Shufersal, Israel's largest grocery food chain. On this virtual supermarket tour, I take you through all the key areas and more. The TL;DR (from my biased perspective): food shopping in Israel is very expensive! While Israel has come massively far from the time that only basic foodstuffs were available (not so long ago!) it's difficult to understand how store brand frozen pizzas can cost more than $5! The high cost of living in Israel is a constant subject of discussion in the country. We need to pressure politicians to do more to keep it within reasonable proportions!
