Join me as I kayak through the HEAVILY polluted Frankford Creek and Delaware River in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to environmentalamerica.org, Philadelphia's sewer system releases an average of 12.7 billion gallons of raw sewage and polluted stormwater every year into the city's waterways. As I paddled along Frankford Creek, I saw more combined sewer overflow discharge points than I've ever seen along a waterway. Despite the odor and obvious signs of contamination, there were so many interesting sights to see along the waterways, like Graffiti Pier, Petty Island, and the abandoned Philadelphia Electric Company.
Thank you as always for watching and for the support, and if you have any suggestions of where you'd like to see me go next, drop a comment!
