Harmonic Balancer Failure! 1999 Dodge Ram 1500

Replacing Harmonic Balancer, And Main Crank Seal, 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L gas V8, 2nd Gen Dodge Ram. I was looking under the pickup and noticed the rubber between the front hub and harmonic balancer sticking out on the back side and realized that the Harmonic Balancer was failing. I was certain it would separate very soon. This would cause heavy vibration and the two parts would rattle together. I read that it is caused by age. The rubber breaks Down and lets go. I guess it can be a thing with these Dodges. I felt fortunate to have caught it before it left me stranded.
