In this video, which is possibly my best video to date, I spent between 14:45 & 16:10 on Thursday 16th July 2026 at the road bridge on Pasture Lane in Bolton-le-Sands. It is located on the West Coast Mainline in County Lancashire between Lancaster and Carnforth stations. All shots in this video were taken facing north due to the sun direction. I ended up getting sunburn on my arms from standing there in the heat for so long. The train types seen in the video are as following: GBRf Class 66 Avanti West Coast Class 390 'Pendolino' Locomotive Services Class 37 Northern Class 195 'Civity' Northern Class 158 'Express Sprinter' Lumo Class 222 Meridian TransPennine Express Class 397 'Civity' Direct Rail Services Class 88 Northern Class 156 'Super Sprinter' The Class 37 (37401 'Mary Queen of Scots') was completely unexpected as it was not on the Realtime Trains website, and so I do not where it was going from or to. If I had to guess, it came from the Locomotive Services depot in Crewe. Other interesting catches in the video include three special liveries: 390121 'Opportunity' in a climate change livery. 195107 'Rob Burrow CBE' in a memorial livery for the rugby player Rob Burrow. 88010 'Aurora' in a Cool Move branded livery. It was good to get another shot of a Class 222 in the new Lumo livery for their new Stirling to London Euston service. I highly recommend this spot as it is a safe road with a brilliant view of the railway in both directions.
