For a long time I have wanted to capture this sound. I listened to quite a few choirs and still could not seem to find what I was looking for. I realized when most people thought of an album of this nature, they were just uninterested. The so-called stereotyped “choir album” is rather bland and lifeless. However, I knew that it did not have to be this way. Phil Johnson, song promoter for Heartwarming Records was in my office the other day, and we started talking about this very subject. After getting our heads together, and coming up with some brand new ideas—to be honest, I became very excited about it. We secured the very finest musicians, studio, and singers in Nashville, Tennessee—and that is saying something. Phil Johnson wrote the score, put the “meat” in the music, and came up with something that excited me to my very toes, to say the least. IT’S HEART, IT’S SOUL, AND IT’S GOSPEL. I want to thank Phil for the work he put into this. After you hear it, you are going to thank both of us for bringing it your way. We have put together some old songs, as well as some new ones. Once the radio stations start playing it, and you get your own copy, the sound is so different—the moment you hear it you will say, “THAT’S FROM NASHVILLE AND IT’S THE JIMMY SWAGGART SINGERS.” Jimmy Swaggart and Phil Johnson
