Jim Jarmusch on Buster Keaton's Lost Films

We believe that a well-told story can be just as absorbing and affecting told on stage during a live Q&A as it is delivered through a performance on the silver screen. That’s why we're excited to launch a new video series titled Cinema Stories, which features compelling, intimate conversations with filmmakers that discuss meaningful moments of film history, artistic influences, personal anecdotes and more. For the first video in the series, we invite you into an important moment in film history, as told by the incomparable Jim Jarmusch during the 54th New York Film Festival. Presenting his sublime drama Paterson during an in-depth On Cinema talk with NYFF Director Kent Jones, Jarmusch detours into an unforgettable tale featuring the man who helped discover and restore the legacy of silent film icon Buster Keaton.
