Why Boeing 777X Is Being REJECTED By All Airlines
Boeing launched the 777X at the 2013 Dubai Airshow with 259 orders worth more than $95 billion — the biggest airliner launch in commercial aviation history. Thirteen years later the Boeing 777-9 has still never carried a fare-paying passenger, and roughly 39 finished jets sit in green primer outside the Everett factory while Emirates, Lufthansa and United all refuse to take them. In this video we break down why the Boeing 777X was delayed to 2027, how a single GE9X mid-seal is blocking the ETOPS certification Boeing needs, why the programme has burned about $15 billion, and why the backlog of 646 orders is somehow the biggest it has ever been. We also look at how Emirates answered the delay with a $5 billion A380 and 777 cabin retrofit, why it is growing its Airbus A380 fleet to 110 aircraft instead, and why the FAA waived its own emissions rule to keep the 777 freighter alive.
