" LE PARC MONTSOURIS A PARIS AU PRINTEMPS "

Le Parc Montsouris, délicieusement vallonné, est situé dans le 14ème arrondissement, entre la rue d'Alésia et la Cité Universitaire de PARIS. Créé sous l’impulsion de Napoléon III en 1875, il fut conçu comme un jardin à l’anglaise. Il abrite un lac absolument splendide, serti d'un écrin de verdure et accueille de nombreuses espèces d'oiseaux. Ici et là se trouvent d'élégantes et jolies statues, des arbres remarquables dont un séquoia géant et un ginkgo biloba (arbre sacré d'Orient) appelé également « l'arbre aux mille écus » en allusion à la pluie d'or des feuilles tombant en automne. Created at the instigation of Napoleon III in 1875, it was conceived as an English garden. It is home to an absolutely beautiful lake, surrounded by lush greenery and home to many species of birds. Here and there are elegant and beautiful statues, remarkable trees including a giant sequoia and a ginkgo biloba (sacred tree of the East) also called "the tree with a thousand crowns" in reference to the golden rain of the leaves falling in autumn.
