[chopin complete 21 nocturnes] :Chopin's Nocturnes remain, to this day, masterpieces handed down through generations, and many pianists continue to reproduce their poetry, their painterly quality, their singing line. Yet in these performances one no longer hears the extraordinary bel canto cantabile that pianists possessed a hundred years ago, and that artistry, too, has faded. I wanted to bring these values back into the light. For this selection, unlike the Études, I chose a different pianist for each piece — twenty-one in all.
