Raylynn Rose - Fireflies in a Mason Jar (Official Music Video)

"Fireflies in a Mason Jar" by Raylynn Rose, track six from her debut album "Last Night." Barefoot in the backyard, chasing little lanterns of green and gold. Some things fade and some things stay, and some things glow when you're far away. A nostalgic summer-evening song about holding love loosely enough to let it shine. Track six of one southern night. Lyrics: Barefoot in the backyard, ten years old Chasing little lanterns made of green and gold Poked some holes in a lid with a nail Running through the dark on a dandelion trail Hide and seek till the dinner bell rang Lying in the grass while the cicadas sang Some things fade and some things stay Some things glow when you're far away Fireflies in a mason jar Little summer wishes, little shooting stars I kept that light right next to my heart Like fireflies in a mason jar Glowing, glowing, no matter how far I still got fireflies in a mason jar Now I'm grown and the town's moved on The swing set's rusted and the creek's near gone But tonight you found me in the twilight haze And it took me back to those barefoot days You caught one gentle in the palm of your hand And I swear I was a kid again We always let them go before the sun came up 'Cause love ain't love if you're holding it too tight So I'm opening my hands to this summer night Let it shine, let it shine, let it fly Let 'em fly... (Ooh-ooh) glowing in the dark Fireflies in a mason jar Subscribe for the rest of the album, one song at a time.
