The Stillness of Now

The Stillness of Now I stand before you, the noise of the city falling like ash beyond the reach of our skin. The air between us is heavy, charged with the weight of a thousand unspoken things, but our hearts have found a singular rhythm— one beat, one breath, one shimmering line. Can we exist only in this sliver of time? To carve a sanctuary out of a second, to build a cathedral in a heartbeat? Let the hours outside dissolve, let the calendars burn, let the future be a ghost that cannot find us. While the moment lasts, we are the only two points of light in a darkening sky. For as long as it will, for as long as the gravity holds, stay here, where the heartbeat is the only law. Marshall Elmore October 18, 2026
