VÆR feat. ALEX WONDERLAND — CLOSE THE DISTANCE (2026 REIMAGINED) | OFFICIAL AUDIO Some distances aren't measured in miles. They're measured in everything we've been too afraid to say. Some songs change because the music evolves. Others change because the people singing them are no longer the same. CLOSE THE DISTANCE (2026 REIMAGINED) transforms one of VÆR's deeply personal compositions into a powerful modern alternative metal duet. From its intimate acoustic beginnings and memories of London's TBL to crushing guitars, emotional vocal harmonies and explosive metal arrangements, the song has evolved without losing its heart. Elias Mercer's raw, dark tenor and Alex Wonderland's expressive vocals tell a story of fear, regret, vulnerability and the courage to remain beside someone when everything begins to fall apart. Haunting acoustic melodies, thunderous drums, devastating breakdowns and soaring guitar solos create a journey from fragile uncertainty to defiant hope. This isn't a song about being rescued. It's about learning to stay, to forgive, and to find your way back to one another. Because sometimes the greatest distance lies between who we were and who we're trying to become. CLOSE THE DISTANCE. DON'T LET GO. CLOSE THE DISTANCE — LYRICS There's a shadow underneath my skin And I don't know where it begins Is this fire pulling me to life Or just a lie I made to survive? I can feel the world inside my hands But I don't know where I should stand How are we supposed to make this right When yesterday still haunts us? I've been walking through the night With the weight of every sin Every road becomes a question Every answer comes undone I've held on to dying dreams Long after they stopped holding me Nothing ever looks the way it seems When there's no distance left between us If I turn away into the dark Will I wake up where it starts? If I let the silence cover me Will anything be different? CLOSE THE DISTANCE, DON'T LET GO! PULL US BACK BEFORE WE LOSE CONTROL! WHEN THE NIGHT SWALLOWS EVERYTHING WE KNOW STAY WITH US — DON'T LEAVE US HERE ALONE! DON'T LET GO! DON'T LEAVE US HERE ALONE! The world cuts through me like broken glass Leaves fingerprints where my defenses cracked And when the night comes closing in Will I still have the nerve to stand? I've been staring at the edge Trying not to lose my way Every shadow has a warning Every night becomes a test If I turn away into the dark Will I wake up where it starts? If I let the silence cover me Will anything be different? CLOSE THE DISTANCE, DON'T LET GO! PULL US BACK BEFORE WE LOSE CONTROL! WHEN THE NIGHT SWALLOWS EVERYTHING WE KNOW STAY WITH US — DON'T LEAVE US HERE ALONE! Will I ever be the man I was? Would you recognize me now? When the world pushes me away Will you still believe in me somehow? I've been cruel when I was afraid I've hidden truth behind the things I said If I could see myself clearly I'd tear the darkness from my eyes I MADE A HOME INSIDE THE HURT! I LET THE SILENCE DO ITS WORST! BUT WE'RE STILL HERE! WE'RE STILL HERE! I don't know what's waiting On the other side of fear But every step we take Makes the silence disappear If I turn away into the dark Will I wake up where it starts? If I let the silence cover me WE WON'T LET IT END LIKE THIS! STAY WITH US, DON'T LET GO! PULL US BACK BEFORE WE LOSE CONTROL! WHEN THE NIGHT SWALLOWS EVERYTHING WE KNOW STAY WITH US — DON'T LEAVE US HERE ALONE! CLOSE THE DISTANCE! DON'T LET GO! DON'T LEAVE US HERE ALONE! VÆR feat.
