Herning city walk

Herning is a young city - it was founded in 1913. It has strong influences and expanded rapidly due to the textile industry. Nowadays, these traditions are still present with some textile companies left and with the design educations based at VIA Design in Birk. The industries and companies have broadened a lot since then. Herning has a very varied business environment within metal, production, IT services, energy, hospitality and service industries. With 86.864 citizens, Herning Municipality is 14th largest municipality in Denmark measured by population. By area, Herning is the 3rd largest municipality.
