When Terry DiMonte visits Montreal, it doesn’t take long before he’s reminded why he left: traffic.
“[It’s] because of this, the chaos that not only doesn’t seem to get better, it seems to get worse,” he told hosts Bill Brownstein and Aaron Rand in this week’s episode of The Corner Booth.
It’s a gripe that reflects what, in DiMonte’s view, is larger issue with how Montreal is governed.
“This is the thing about this administration: they’ve managed the city for a small corner of the city,” referring to the popularity of bike paths in neighbourhoods like the Plateau and the Mile-End.
“They’ve tried to run that corner of the city for those residents, and keep only those residents in mind when they make these decisions.”
DiMonte, a former host CHOM 97.7, is the cohost of Standing By: The Terry and Ted Podcast.
