matsushima: chill, rainy vlog in japan's coastal city

It has a quaint, yet lovely atmosphere will some unique shops and restaurants, and of course the magnificent view of the islands themselves. As usual with Tim in Japan, this is an experiential, curated travel vlog that intends to capture the spirit of the day, and highlight the beauty of the Matsushima islands. Tohoku is a wonderful, underrated region in Japan, especially in the autumn season, which is when we visited (November 2023). In this vlog we found an incredible little American style diner by the name of Harry's Junction, slinging all the classic American comfort foods, despite being in the heart of Japan's coastline. From there we made our way to Matsushima bay itself to get a peek at those gorgeous islands. The gray, rainy, foggy atmosphere only added to the romance and beauty of the scene. We explore Matsushima Kaigan station's gift shop a bit, before catching some amazing shots in the darkened, rainy train station. After that we arrive back in Sendai and I make a little night expedition out to pick up some local Chinese food at Bimirou (now permanently closed, unfortunately).
