Football: Bear Lake(ID) vs. Rich(UT)

It’s a Bear Lake Valley border battle Friday night as the Bear Lake Bears (3–1) welcome the Rich Rebels (4–2) from Randolph, Utah, to Montpelier! Bear Lake returns home looking to bounce back after suffering its first loss of the season at South Fremont. The Bears opened the year with three straight victories, defeating Marsh Valley, North Fremont and Firth, including a thrilling 22–21 overtime win over Firth. Rich makes the short trip north with plenty of momentum. The Rebels are coming off a 47–18 victory over Altamont and have won two straight games while scoring 95 points during that stretch. One player to watch for Rich is senior quarterback Wilkes Weston, who has been a major part of the Rebels’ offense both through the air and on the ground. Senior Paxton Nicolodemos has also been a key contributor at receiver and on defense. With two neighboring communities, plenty of familiarity and bragging rights on the line, the stage is set for a great night of high school football in the Bear Lake Valley.
