Part 375 of The Best of Railfanning, Plane Spotting, and Many More series, featuring railfanning clips of various trains passing through the old City Hall Station in OpenBVE, Part 5 (as an abbreviation refresher: RfC - Railfanning Complation, and P - Part).
In the mix are some work trains that can occasionaly be seen within the NYC Subway as well as in each of the yards when not in use. Most are being towed by the R52 dual mode locomotive in various configurations such as the flatbeds, crane cars, and rider cars converted from old retired subway cars. Also featured are the R127 & R134, work car versions of the R62 & R62A.
For the R52 sets - Each use the P42DC sounds as the files and extensions were copied and pasted to there, due to the original base files being broken and unable to be loaded into the newer versions of OpenBVE.
Trivia: Due to the lack of air conditioning systems, the R127 & R134 work cars are not used during the summer hours and replaced by others. The R12 & R14 rider cars (converted under contract R71) as seen during the complation, were reefed and replaced by R33 rider cars (converted under contract R161). Since then, R14 5944 converted into de-icer car RD430 is the only work car of the R12 & R14 series to still be in service as of 2026.
City Hall station opened in 1904 as one of the 1st subway stations in NYC, until closing in 1945 due to the sharp curve which was not compatible with newer trains. The NYTM does host station tours for it's members, plus passengers are allowed to stay on the train to see the station from onboard. As always, only trains measuring at 51 foot or less are featured. Some trains are new and yet to begin their route runs within the channel, already have, or haven't been seen for a while.
Final decision: Until Parts 380 & 400, all videos of The Best of Railfanning, Plane Spotting, and Many More series through to Parts 379 & 399 and including Part 390 will be devoted to other videos of this series in order to better promote this channel to more audiences and subscribers.
As aforementioned in a community post, all new & existing video must have a high number of views (minimum 900 to 1,000 or more). Otherwise there will be less uploads and the burnout will increase.
