Washington State's Owen Eshelman Era BEGINS! Can He SAVE the Cougars?!

Washington State football is making a major quarterback change as Owen Eshelman takes over the starting job ahead of the Cougars' rivalry matchup against Oregon State. But can the redshirt freshman turn around one of the most disappointing offenses in college football? Kirby Moore has already made changes to Washington State's offensive play-calling responsibilities, and now he's turning to Eshelman after Caden Pinnock struggled through the first six games. Chad Kebba of UpWest Sports and the Palouse Playbook joins Locked On Pac-12 to discuss why this quarterback change could provide the spark Washington State desperately needs. We examine Eshelman's leadership, decision-making and potential to improve an offense that has struggled with consistency, third-down conversions and explosive plays. But the problems go beyond quarterback. Washington State is still searching for a reliable No. 1 receiver following Tony Freeman's injury, while Trey Lechner's return could provide a much-needed boost at tight end. Then we turn our attention to Saturday's matchup in Corvallis. Oregon State enters the game with momentum under first-year head coach JaMarcus Shephard, while Washington State hopes to turn its season around under Moore. Could former Oregon State head coach and current Washington State defensive coordinator Trent Bray provide a significant advantage against his former team? We also address the growing discussion surrounding Washington State general manager Brad Larrondo and whether criticism of the Cougars' roster construction and talent evaluation is justified. Finally, we discuss the future of Washington State football, why patience with Moore's rebuilding process matters and what Cougars fans should realistically expect moving forward.
