Montaž is one of the most powerful and, with its 2753m, the second highest mountain in the Julian Alps. The authentic Slovenian name of this mountain is Špik nad Policami. At the top there is a cross and a bell dedicated to the mountaineer Riccardo Deffar. This is a long version of the trail so that people can see if this trail is for them. Mostly free climbing with the help of hands, not many "wedges" to help you. At 5:50, we hit the climbing part - Findeneggov ozebnik. It was very exposed, and there was a high risk of rockfall due to the presence of ibex above us. I didn't film it because I didn't have the strap for my helmet cam, and it was too risky to hold the camera. The designated return route traversed Pipan's Ladder. Starting point: Pecol (46,4092°N 13,4376°E) Trail name: Pecol - Montaž / Jôf di Montasio (čez Findeneggov ozebnik) Walking time: 3 h 45 min Difficulty: very demanding marked trail Elevation difference: 1243 m Elevation difference along the trail: 1255 m Date: 29.10.2022
