I've been working in the outsourcing industry in the Philippines for 14 years. I started in 2012 when I was still in college. I had to stop school because of family financial problems, and getting a job in customer support gave me a way to start earning and help my family. Back then, I was single, living with my parents, and earning around $200 a month. At the time, that felt like enough. But 14 years later, my life looks very different. I'm married, I'm a father, we have our own place, and we're trying to save for a house. My income has increased, but so have the cost of living and my responsibilities. And after working for this long, I sometimes wonder why financial security still feels so far away. In this video, I talk honestly about what it's really like to spend 14 years working in the Philippine outsourcing and customer support industry — the salary, the cost of living, job security, layoffs, AI, and whether I can really rely on this career to build the future I want for my family. This isn't meant to be a video saying customer support is a bad career. This job gave me an opportunity when I needed one, and I'm grateful for that. But after 14 years, I'm starting to ask myself: Can I really keep relying on this job for the future? Thanks for watching.
