The Modern Avatar of Chennai Express:- Train No. 12163/12164 was originally introduced as a popular daily express connecting Mumbai LTT to Chennai Central. It upgraded to LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches to improve passenger safety, comfort, and high-speed stability on the trunk line. 2. Daylight Bhor Ghat Ascent:- Unlike late-night departures like the 22157 Chennai Mail, Train 12163 leaves Mumbai LTT in the early afternoon (~12:15 PM). This gives railfans a daylight view of the Bhor Ghat incline between Karjat and Lonavala, complete with banker engine coupling at Karjat and mountain canyon views. 3. Four-State Quad Corridor:- In roughly 21.5 hours, the train cuts across four major states: Maharashtra: Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Solapur Karnataka: Kalaburagi, Wadi, Raichur Andhra Pradesh: Mantralayam Road, Guntakal, Renigunta Tamil Nadu: Arakkonam, Chennai Central 4. The Guntakal (GTL) Junction Crossing: Reaching Guntakal Junction in the late evening, the train traverses one of South India's historic railway hubs. Guntakal serves as the critical junction connecting Mumbai/Pune traffic to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Coastal Andhra routes. 5. Tirupati Pilgrim Bypass Corridor: The train halts at Renigunta Junction, located just 10 km from the holy city of Tirupati. It acts as a direct train link for pilgrims traveling from Western India to the Sri Venkateswara Temple. DATE OF JOURNEY- Oct'26 Hope you like the video!! Please do comment, like and subscribe!!!
