Tip 2: Be observant + the 50/30/20 rule will help you budget, but keep it flexible - often times you can shift these numbers around depending on your situation. Making it a habit to be observant of your spending will help you resist impulse purchases and the action of simply swiping your card. Tip 3: Review Monthly to see how you're trending toward your goals - I like to check my bank balance every single month on the same day. It's important to get good feedback loops. Continue to do this as you improve your budget. Remember, a good budget comes with consistency and discipline.
