SA and SD carriages on the move from Taumarunui - August 2024 (4K)

On Tuesday the 27th of August we followed DBR 1254 hauling 11 ex Auckland Suburban carriages which had sat at Taumaranui for around 8 years, we start off in a very wet Taumaranui before following the train north passing through the King Country and into the Waikato arriving at Mission Bush in the evening The SA and SD carriages are ex British Rail Mark 2 carriages which were rebuilt in the early 2000s in New Zealand, after the arrival of the CAF Electric Multiple Units in 2014 the SAs along with the ADK DMUs became surplus to requirement. By September 2015 all SA and SD carriages were out of service and being moved to Taumaranui for storage Enjoy!!!
