Restoration of a South African Air Force Lemania 1872 Chronograph Wristwatch

Welcome to another episode of WatchesWithAlex. In this episode I'll be servicing and performing a sympathetic restoration on a Lemania 1872 that was issued to the South African Air Force. The 817 case, was designed by Ervin Piquerez SA (EPSA) and originated in 1968 and is commonly seen in military chronographs by Breguet, Heuer, Sinn, and most notably Lemania. It is powered by the signed and numbered Lemania calibre 1872 manual wind movement. It is a 17 jewels 21’600 bpm “workhorse” with a 40 hr power reserve, perfect for a rugged military environment.
