Pakistani Hindu Family Makes a Serious Claim About Land Ownership in Punjab | HSF

One son is still in Pakistan. A woman in the family is battling cancer. Elderly family members cannot work. And even after reaching Bharat, this Pakistani Hindu refugee family is still struggling for a permanent home. 💔🏠 Today, Hindu Samman Foundation visited Molu Ram Ji’s family in Dholiya, near Phalodi, Rajasthan. The family came from Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan, in 2022 and currently survives through agricultural labour. One of Molu Ram Ji’s sons is still in Pakistan because of visa restrictions, leaving the family separated across two countries. During our conversation, the family also shared a serious concern from their experience in Punjab, Pakistan. They told us that Hindus faced difficulties purchasing and registering land in their own names and sometimes had to depend on property being registered in another person’s name. This, they explained, left Hindu families without the security of having legal ownership in their own hands.
