In this lecture, we continue our journey into the Entity Relationship Model by understanding Maximum and Minimum Cardinality, also known as Structural Constraints. In the previous lecture, we introduced the concept of cardinality and it's types. In this lecture, we go one step further and understand how structural constraints specify the minimum and maximum number of relationship instances in which an entity can participate. You will learn the concepts of Minimum Cardinality and Maximum Cardinality with simple examples and understand how these constraints are represented in an ER diagram. The lecture also explains how structural constraints help define the rules governing the participation of entities in relationships.
