Watch as Matt Winkler, inventor of the famed "Reel Great" guitar pickup winder, takes you on a musical journey through the origins of godly tone. This pickup is a custom coil-tapped Strat pickup, with a "hot" setting of 6.5K ohms and a "cool" setting of 4.5K ohms. "Cool" gets some clean twangy clarity while "hot" has some warmth and crunch. Overall, considering the half-dozen soldering joints, uneven windings, cheap magnets, deformed bobbin... it sounds great. Expecting to get in some wooden bobbins to make a humbucker soon, and will also post demos of the tone of this pickup here in a few days!
