Episode 4, Part 1: Building a Business One Relationship at a Time | Dr. Greg Wearsch
A degree can prepare you for a profession—but what prepares you to build a business?
In this episode of The Quiet River Table, I sit down with my brother, Dr. Greg Wearsch of Comfort Chiropractic, for a candid conversation about entrepreneurship, earning trust, and creating opportunities instead of waiting for them.
Greg shares how his own experience as a chiropractic patient inspired his career—and how a summer spent working in a chiropractic office helped him discover a profession that combined helping people with business ownership.
But getting qualified was only the beginning.
From mailing letters and prepaid return postcards to prospective employers to offering community blood pressure screenings, Greg explains the personal outreach, persistence, and relationship-building behind his early career in Louisville, Kentucky. Some opportunities came from the people he approached. Others came from unexpected conversations along the way.
We also reflect on the work ethic our parents modeled, the importance of mentorship, and the difference between being good at your profession and learning how to run a business. There’s family banter, a little nostalgia, and an honest look at the effort that happens long before a business becomes established.
In this conversation, we explore:
Turning a personal experience into a purposeful career.
Creating opportunities through initiative and thoughtful follow-up.
Building a client base one conversation and one relationship at a time.
How respect, customer service, and referrals shaped Greg’s practice.
Along the way, we touch on health and wellness, asking informed questions, and taking an active role in conversations about your care.
Whether you’re a skilled tradesperson, entrepreneur, midlevel manager, corporate professional, healthcare provider, or investor, this episode offers a reminder: the people you serve—and how you treat them—belong at the center of what you’re building.
