PEMEL (polymer electrolyte membrane electrolysis) enables hydrogen production from pure water. It is well developed and commercially available up to megawatt for industrial applications. In a PEMEL cell, water is introduced at the anode where it is split into protons, oxygen and electrons. The protons and the electrons travel through a membrane and an external circuit to the cathode to form 𝐻_2, while oxygen remains back with water. In this video, the current-voltage polarization curve of a PEM electrolysis stack will be generated using ASPEN PLUS The method published in the Paper Elena Crespi, Giulio Guandalini, Luca Mastropasqua, Stefano Campanari, Jacob Brouwer. Experimental and theoretical evaluation of a 60 kW PEM electrolysis system for flexible dynamic operation. Energy Conversion and Management. 277. 2023. DOI: 10.1016/j.enconman.2022.116622 will be used. For a small donation you can download the Aspen Plus and PowerPoint files from the following link: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted...
