Following the Autumn Budget announced on 28 October, our expert panel came together to discuss what the Chancellor’s announcements mean for individuals, businesses and future planning. During the webinar, the panel explored the practical implications of the Budget, highlighted potential pitfalls, identified opportunities and outlined the steps that individuals and businesses may wish to consider. The discussion was chaired by Nicholas Smith, Head of Tax at Duncan & Toplis, and featured: • Neal Groves, Beavis Morgan, discussing personal tax, including inheritance tax and the implications for individuals and families • Stephen Martin, Old Mill, covering corporate tax and the impact of the Budget on businesses and business owners • Chris Watts, Old Mill, exploring HMRC compliance, tax investigations and the Government’s focus on closing the tax gap • Adam Thompson, Castlegate Financial Management, discussing wealth management, including pensions, investments and longer-term financial planning • Amy Codd, Duncan & Toplis Legal Services, covering legal and estate planning considerations arising from changes affecting individuals and families The session also included a live Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to put their questions directly to the panel.
