This vehicle is coming soon to Low Miles No Miles Auctions! Link to full listing: https://lowmilesnomiles.com/auctions/... We have a soft spot for these old Mercedes diesels. There's something about a W123 that just feels different from almost anything built today. These weren't cars designed around giant touchscreens, complicated electronics, or trying to impress somebody with a long list of gimmicks. They were built to be automobiles. Solid, comfortable, incredibly well-engineered automobiles that were intended to last. And boy, did they ever. If you've spent any time around old Mercedes diesels, you know exactly what we're talking about. The unmistakable sound of that five-cylinder engine. The way the doors shut. The big steering wheel. The simple, purposeful dashboard. Everything about these cars feels like it was designed by engineers who expected somebody to still be driving them decades later. And in plenty of cases, they were right. But what makes this one especially interesting to us is the coupe body. We see W123 sedans from time to time, but the 300CD has a completely different presence. Those long doors, frameless windows, and clean roofline make it one of the best-looking Mercedes designs of its era. And Astral Silver over Blue? That's a combination we can certainly appreciate. Now, we want to be clear about something. This isn't a perfect, untouched survivor, and we're not going to pretend it is. The dealer believes it's had some paintwork and possibly rust repairs over the years. There is surface corrosion underneath, and a few cosmetic imperfections are present. But that's part of what makes this a different kind of opportunity. Not everybody wants a car they're afraid to drive. Some people want to get in, turn the key, listen to that old diesel come to life, and enjoy what made these cars so special in the first place. With just 65,657 miles showing, a nice interior, fresh tires, and recent servicing, this 300CD has a lot going for it. We think there's something refreshing about a classic Mercedes that doesn't need to be treated like a museum exhibit. A car you can take to dinner. Drive on a Sunday afternoon. Park at a local cars and coffee. And enjoy without feeling like every additional mile is taking something away from it. Because the reality is, these cars were built to be driven. And after more than 40 years, this one still has a story worth continuing. That's what we like about it.
