"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." — 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (ESV) One morning, shortly after I woke up, my heart was filled with the thought of God's goodness and faithfulness throughout my life. A simple phrase naturally rose from within me: "Lord, I thank You." I knelt down and began to pray, thanking God for His guidance, protection, and grace. During that short prayer, something remarkable happened. The negative emotions I had been carrying were swept away, replaced by a deep sense of God's peace and joy. Later, I turned that experience into this song. So often we come to God with our requests, yet forget to pause and thank Him for the countless blessings He has already given us. Sometimes, simply saying, "Lord, I thank You," can redirect our hearts back to Him and fill us with renewed joy. My prayer is that this song will encourage you to cultivate a heart of gratitude every day, no matter what season of life you are in.
