Can Anika Nilles Carry Neil Peart’s Legacy?

The arrival of Anika Nilles alongside Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson opens a new chapter filled with emotion, respect, and responsibility. Taking her place behind the drums in the music of Rush means stepping into a territory forever connected to Neil Peart. Anika immerses herself in his compositions, studies every detail, and searches for her own place within a body of work that once seemed impossible to continue. More than simply filling a role, her inclusion raises a much deeper question: how do you move forward without erasing the absence? The answer emerges through the music, where Neil’s legacy remains intact while something new begins to take shape.
