DÒNG SÔNG THAN KHÓC (MA ĐA) | The Weeping River | Vietnamese Folklore | FOOKINRHINO STUDIOS

DÒNG SÔNG THAN KHÓC (MA ĐA) — THE WEEPING RIVER A dark Vietnamese folklore story brought to life through music. Beneath a quiet river, a drowned spirit remains trapped between life and death. Known as Ma Đa, the restless soul waits beneath the water — frightening, lonely, and desperate to escape an endless cycle. This production combines the haunting cry of đàn bầu, the breath of sáo trúc, sparse wooden heartbeat percussion, and one distant Scottish Highland bagpipe lament at the emotional center of the song. The fear belongs to the river. The heartbreak belongs to the soul beneath it. Single Vietnamese female vocal. Traditional Vietnamese atmosphere. Folklore, sorrow, fear, memory, and the eternal pull of the water. SETTING: Sông Hương — Perfume River Huế, Vietnam FOOKINRHINO STUDIOS Executive Producer, Songwriter & Director: Tim Lester
