Ultravox! - Hiroshima Mon Amour (KD Remix 2024)

This is a fan-made remix following a request from a listener called Christopher Adderley - Thanks for the request Christopher - I very much enjoyed doing this classic new wave track by Ultravox. In the original, I think you can hear strong influences from the likes of Neu/Bowie/Eno. There is also a film called HMA and you can find out more details using the link below. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052893/... According to a search online John Foxx said that "Hiroshima Mon Amour" was the first synthpop/new-wave song in rock history. He may be right. http://www.peek-a-boo-magazine.be/en/... I have used a couple of samples from the original, specifically the drum machine sequence at the beginning of the song and a couple of sound effects again from the intro in the original. I have also used John Foxx's original vocals. Otherwise, the musical backing track has been created from scratch. I have not done this for personal gain and will make no money from the video. "Hiroshima Mon Amour" originally appeared as a track on Ultravox's first album called "Ha! Ha! Ha!" in 1977. https://www.discogs.com/master/4798-U... HMA was later also released as part of an EP in 1981. https://www.discogs.com/master/20051-... Some of the images on the video were generated using AI. Lyrics and credits Somehow we drifted off too far Communicate like distant stars Splintered voices down the phone The sunlit dust, the smell of roses drifts, oh no Someone waits behind the door Hiroshima mon amour Riding inter-city trains Dressed in European grey Riding out to echo beach A million memories in the trees and sands, oh no How can I ever let them go? Hiroshima mon amour Meet beneath the autumn lake Where only echoes penetrate Walk through Polaroids of the past Futures fused like shattered glass, the suns so low Turns our silhouettes to gold Hiroshima mon amour Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Dennis Leigh / Warren Reginald Cann / William Currie Hiroshima Mon Amour lyrics © Kobalt Music Publishing Ltd., Universal Music Publishing Group
