Bob Newhart - Live Stand-Up Performance (1966) | Swingin' With The Stars - Harry Gozzard

Featuring a classic television performance from The Hollywood Palace Second Anniversary broadcast on January 1, 1966, this rare recording captures legendary comedian Bob Newhart delivering a brilliant stand-up set. During his remarkable 25-year tenure in the in-house orchestra at the Elmwood Casino, trumpet player Harry Gozzard backed many of the greatest performers of the 20th century—including incredible talents like Bob Newhart. Early in his career, Newhart played a one-week engagement at the Elmwood, an experience he later recalled with fondness despite audiences that were polite rather than loud, noting that Canadians were "very nice." The novel series The Last Jam Session highlights these unforgettable artists and preserves the rich history of the stars who crossed paths with Harry on stage and behind the scenes.
