How to visit Milford Sound when campervaning New Zealand

Welcome to our New Zealand campervan road trip! This video takes us to Deer Flats, which ended up being a really nice, quiet spot to park up for a couple of days. It’s a great base if you’re heading to Milford Sound, which was the main reason we came this way. The drive out to Milford Sound is honestly just as good as the destination. You’re surrounded by mountains the whole way, with loads of places to stop and take it all in. Even with the typical New Zealand weather rolling in and out, it just adds to the whole experience. We booked a boat tour through Get Your Guide, and it was easily one of the highlights of the trip. Being out on the water really gives you a sense of how massive the place is. We got up close to some of the waterfalls and even spotted a bit of wildlife along the way. Milford Sound is one of those places that actually lives up to the hype.
