Gen Aziz Khan’s Untold End: Coup Secrets, Corruption & Final Fall | Awais Ghauri ‪@justajoo9‬

Hello Questers! In this final and gripping episode of our exclusive biography series on General (R) Muhammad Aziz Khan, Awais Ghauri uncovers the dramatic untold story of the October 12, 1999 military coup, the overthrow of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and how General Pervez Musharraf was brought to power. Discover the behind-the-scenes military decisions made at the Chaklala Army Club and GHQ Rawalpindi that brought Triple One Brigade into action and locked down the entire country within hours. While General Aziz was celebrated as the ultimate mastermind who saved Musharraf and executed Pakistan's fourth martial law, his alliance with the regime soon faced severe geopolitical and internal cracks following the aftermath of Kargil War and the post-9/11 war on terror. As international dynamics shifted, ideological divides within the Pakistan Army leadership deepened—especially regarding the Kunduz airlift operation and strategic policy toward the Afghan Taliban. Despite his elevation to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and Four-Star General rank, Gen Aziz Khan was gradually sidelined from operational military command.
