Welcome to another episode of the podcast! Today, we deep-dive into the eerie mystery and grand history of the SS Keewatin, the world’s last surviving Edwardian-era passenger steamship. Built in Glasgow, Scotland in 1907 by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, this Titanic-era vessel is a floating time capsule that originally ferried wealthy passengers across the Great Lakes for the Canadian Pacific Railway. We discuss the incredible engineering feat of its delivery voyage, where the massive ship had to be split in two just to fit through the canals. Saved from the scrapyard in the 1960s, the Keewatin is now a beautifully restored museum docked in Kingston, Ontario, and was recently named the 2025 Museum Ship of the Year. But beneath its lavish mahogany interiors lies a chilling mystery. During our discussion, we explore the heavy wooden fire doors that were retrofitted onto the ship following the tragic SS Noronic fire in 1949. Today, crew members and visitors frequently report these massive doors slamming forcefully shut on their own—even when there is no wind, draft, or person around. Do the spirits of loyal crew members and past passengers still wander these decks? Grab your headphones and join us as we investigate the history and the hauntings of this magnificent vessel! #Podcast #SSKeewatin #GhostShip #HauntedHistory #ParanormalPodcast #GreatLakes #TrueScaryStories #MaritimeMystery
