What is a Heart attack (heart attack kya hota hai / dil ka daura kya hota hai/ heart attack kyu aata hai/ heart attack kyon hota hai) -A heart attack occurs when the supply of oxygen-rich blood gets stopped because of any blockage in coronary arteries and heart muscles start dying because of lack of blood supply. A heart attack is also known as Myocardial infarction. Causes of heart attack (heart attack ke karan/dil ka daura padne ke karan) - Coronary artery disease is the most common cause of heart attack and Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of coronary artery disease. Atherosclerotic plaque causes narrowing of the coronary arteries causing a reduction in the blood supply of heart muscles due to the oxygen requirement of heart muscles can not be meet out at the time of increased demands like at the time of exercises and emotional stress. Sometimes atherosclerotic plaque ruptures causing sudden blockage of the coronary artery producing symptoms of heart attack (dil ka daura). Sometimes coronary arteries undergo spasm (angina) resulting in reduced blood supply to heart muscles eventually causing heart attack symptoms (heart attack ke lakshan). Nonatherosclerotic causes of heart attack ( heart attack ke karan) -Vasculitis, Left ventricular hypertrophy, Drugs like Cocaine, Amphetamines, Heavy physical exertion, Hyperthyroidism, Severe anemia. Nonmodifiable Risk factors of Heart attack (dil ka daura) / Coronary artery disease- 1) Gender 2)Family history 3) Age 4) Male Pattern Baldness Modifiable Risk factors -1) Smoking cigarettes 2) Obesity 3) Psychological stress 4) High blood pressure 5) Diabetes 6) Alcohol consumption 7) Diet & Nutrition Symptoms of heart attack (heart attack ke lakshan kya hote hai) - 1) Chest pain radiating to the left side of arm , chest discomfort, heaviness, tightness or feeling of pressure or squeezing in the chest, 2) Pain in the right arm, back, neck, jaw, or stomach could be the symptom of a heart attack 3) Shortness of breath 4) Profuse sweating 5) Indigestion, Choking, 6) Nausea, Vomiting, Dizziness, irregular heart rate, palpitations Silent Heart Attack - occur usually in a diabetic patient where the symptoms are only indigestion and chest pain (angina) is usually not the symptoms of heart attack (heart attack ke lakshan) in diabetic patient Heart attack symptoms in women (heart attack ke lakshan in hindi female ) - Chest pain is the most common symptom, but atypical symptoms like sleep disturbance, indigestion, anxiety, weakness are more common than in men.
