How to get admitted, treated, and tested at Dhaka Medical College Hospital at a low cost? #Dhaka_medical
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) is a glorious name in the history of medical education and healthcare in Bangladesh. Located in the heart of the capital Dhaka, this institution started its journey in 1946. At that time, it was a small-scale medical college and hospital, which started with only 39 students.
DMCH was born from the initiative of moving some parts from Calcutta Medical College and establishing a new medical center in Dhaka. From the very beginning, various departments including medicine, surgery, and gynecology started here.
During the great liberation war of 1971, this hospital became the main source of treatment for injured freedom fighters and common people. Brave doctors set a unique example by risking their lives to provide services.
After independence, the hospital gradually moved towards modernization. Currently, it has about 2,500 beds, more than 50 medical departments, and advanced labs, emergency, and intensive care units. Thousands of patients receive services from here every day.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital is now not just a medical institution; it is a unique center for medical education, research and healthcare. The best doctors in the country receive training here and contribute to the progress of the country's health system.
